Germination
Sow directly or into a cold frame in spring or autumn. Prior to sowing soak seed in warm water. Seed may also be scarified if desired. Sow seeds before they dry out. Sow 3mm deep into moist, well-drained seed compost. Ideal temp. 10°C. Germination takes 1-2 months, at 20°C takes 2 weeks approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out in summer.
Growing
Prefers a well-drained light alkaline soil in full or partial sun. Can not grow in shade. Drought tolerant. Can tolerate coastal exposure.
Cultivation
Propagate by division in spring or autumn. Will self-seed.
