Germination
Sow indoors in spring. Sow thinly into moist well-drained seed compost, cover with a fine layer of compost. Propagate or place in a sealed plastic bag to maintain humidity. Ideal temp. 21-25°C during the day allowing the temp. to drop to 19-21°C overnight. Germination takes 2-4 weeks approx. If germination does not occur cold stratify. Move to -4-+4°C for 2-4 weeks then return to warmth. Remove cover when seedlings appear. Transplant seedlings once large enough to handle. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed with 50-60cm spacing.
Growing
Prefers a neutral soil in full or partial sun. Water regularly. Offer a light liquid feed during vegetative growth if desired.
Cultivation
Will self-seed freely. Remove seedheads if you do not want volunteer seedlings.
