Germination
Sow indoors. Sow as soon as you can, fresh seed germinates best. Prior to sowing seeds soak in water, with a little added washing-up liquid, for 10-24 hours. Surface sow 2cm apart onto moist well-drained seed compost in a pot. Cover seed with 5-7mm grit. Ideal temp. 13-15°C. Hardy Cyclamen Germinate best in total darkness. Germination takes 30-60 days, do not discard to pots too early. Pots must be kept moist at all times. Seedling tubers should remain in the same pot until they go dormant in their 2nd season. Best planted out when dormant.
Growing
Grow indoors or under glass in containers of loam-based compost with the tops of the tubers just above the soil surface. Maintain bright filtered light with moderate humidity and a min. winter temp. of 13-16°C. Avoid draughts. When in growth water moderately and fertilise every 2 weeks. Reduce water after flowering and keep dry when dormant.
