Germination
Sow indoors at any time. Prior to sowing cold stratify, place seeds with a damp piece of kitchen paper in a zip-lock type bag and pop in the fridge at 4°C for 4 weeks. Then surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Propagate in diffused light at 18-25°C. Do not allow to dry out Germination takes 30-90 days approx. Germination can be erratic even under ideal conditions. Once germinated admit air to prevent damping off. Allow to grow on under glass.
Growing
Best grown under glass in full light but with protection from full sun. Best grown on Sphagnum moss to which you may add sand or perlite. Wash Sphagnum moss, and soil in rain water prior to use. Prefers a high level of humidity. Cover with a cloche to achieve this if desired. Never allow the growing medium to dry out. in winter the plant will enter dormancy, keep barely moist and cool during this time. Use rain water for watering. ideal temp 16-24°C in summer, 1-10°C in winter.
Cultivation
No pruning required. Pick off flowers, if any emerge, as soon as possible so that the plants energy can be diverted to producing traps. Propagate via division of rhizomes in spring or by seed.
