Germination
Sow directly. Prepare the soil by removing any stones and weeds and rake to a fine tilth. Surface sow, just cover seeds with a sprinkling of soil. Do not cover very small seeds, simply press into the soil. Water regularly until seedlings appear. Germination takes 7-14 days. Ideal temp. +20°C. Can be sown indoors and overwintered for planting out the following spring after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers a dry, average soil in full or partial sun. Drought tolerant. Deadhead regularly to extend the flowering window. Easy to grow, required little attention.
Cultivation
Hardy in most regions of the UK, even during a severe winter. If you live in a particularly exposed site offer some protection over winter. Plant can withstand temperatures to -15°C. Will self-seed a little in ideal growing conditions.
