Germination
Sow indoors or in a cold frame in spring. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Lightly press the seeds into the soil. Just cover with a sprinkling of soil. Light is needed for germination. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes approx. 4 weeks. If germination does not occur cold stratify. Place the pot inside a polythene bag and move to the fridge, 4°C. for 4 weeks then return to warmth. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Plant out in summer after danger of frost has passed. Can be sown directly.
Growing
Prefers any moist soil in full sun or partial shade. This plant can spread quickly. It is very attractive to butterflies and other insects.
Cultivation
Cut back at the end of the season.
