Germination

This packet contains tiny seed, please handle with care. Seed may be mixed with silver sand prior to sowing. Sow indoors from mid-winter to late summer. Surface sow onto a free draining Cactus compost. Just cover seed with a little silver sand. Cover seed with a sheet of polythene or glass to maintain humidity. Ideal temp. 19-21°C. Germination takes 2-12 weeks approx. Once germination occurs admit air to prevent damping off. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 6cm pots and grow on under glass. Allow the soil to dry out slightly before offering a light mist spray.

Growing

Grow under glass in a standard Cactus compost with added leaf mould. Prefers bright filtered light and good ventilation. Water well when in growth and feed every 2-3 weeks if desired. Keep almost dry Nov-Mar. Ideal summer temp. 25-35°C. Ideal winter temp. 10°C.

Cultivation

Propagate by seed or by offsets. Requires little attention.
