Germination

Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Press seeds lightly into the soil cover with soil as darkness is needed for germination. Ideal temp. 20-21°C. Germination takes 4-30 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle prick out to 25cm spacing. Can be sown directly where they are to flower after danger of frost has passed. Can be sown under glass in Sep-Oct. for overwintering and germination the following spring.

Growing

Will grow in any soil in full or partial sun. Water a little until established. Requires little attention. If left alone will create a blanket of flowers.

Cultivation

A biennial plant which self-seeds freely so appears as a perennial. Pull up plants once flowering has finished to restrict spread.
