Germination

Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Press seeds lightly into the soil cover with soil as darkness is needed for germination. Ideal temp. 20-21°C. Germination takes 4-30 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle prick out to 25cm spacing. Can be sown directly where they are to flower after danger of frost has passed. Can be sown under glass in Sep-Oct. for overwintering and germination the following spring.

Growing

Prefers wet soil at water margins no deeper than 10cm in full sun or partial shade.

Cultivation

Cut back after flowering. Propagate by seed or division in spring.
