Germination

Sow directly where it is to flower as it does not like to be disturbed. This variety requires a period of cold before germination will occur. Best sown in winter or early spring, February is ideal. Sow to depth of seed into a clean, weed free, seed bed. Do not cover seed, simply press into the soil, light is needed for germination. Germination can take many months. Prefers full sun and a well-drained soil. Patience is required for germination.

Will self-seed freely. Deadhead if you do not want it to self-seed.
