Germination

Sow indoors 2mm deep into moist well-drained seed compost. Propagate at 18-20°C. Germination takes 10-21 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Pinch out growing points when the plant is 8cm tall to encourage a bushy habit. Plant out as the weather warms with 25cm spacing. Can be sown where they are to flower from Apr-May.

Growing

Needs a well-drained soil, ideally rich, add compost if required. Water well from the base of the plant. Will benefit from fertilising once in spring and once in summer.

Cultivation

Deadhead flower clusters as this may encourage further blooms.
