Germination
Sow indoors at any time. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 18°C. Germination should take 21-28 days approx. If germination does not occur cold stratify. Move seeds to 4°C for 2-4 weeks then return to warmth for germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to individual pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed. Can be sown directly in spring with varying results.
Growing
Prefers an ordinary, acid to neutral, moist soil in full or partial sun. Will tolerate a mildly alkaline soil.
Cultivation
Will self-seed freely. Deadhead if you do not want volunteer seedlings next season.
