Germination
Sow indoors in spring. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 24-26°C. Germination takes 1 week approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle and grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out in summer.
Growing
Prefers a rich, very well-drained soil in full sun. Avoid wet conditions. Water moderately and feed when in growth, reduce watering to a minimum in winter. Can be grown under glass in a loam-based potting compost. Will be damaged by frost.
