Germination
Sow indoors. Sow seeds 12mm deep into moist well-drained compost. Ideal temp. 5°C, an unheated greenhouse is ideal. Germination take 7-10 days but can be irregular. When seedlings are large enough to handle and danger of frost has passed plant outside with 30cm spacing.
Growing
Prefers a poor soil in full sun. Fertilise with chicken manure at the start of each growing season. Once established requires little attention.
Cultivation
Regular cutting will promote a good, compact growth habit. In winter cut plants to ground level to encourage new growth. Divide plant every 1-2 years.
