Germination

Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. Propagate 18-25°C. Germination takes 14-30 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 30cm spacing.

Growing

Pinch out growing tip of each stem to encourage a bushier plant. Feed and water regularly. May require staking.

Cultivation

Deadhead to prolong flowering window. Allow some heads to go to seed if seed is to be collected. Properly cleaned seed can be sown the following year.
