Germination
Sow indoors. Surface sow onto seed compost. Needs light to germinate. Ideal temp. 15-20°C. Keep moist but watch out for damping off. Germination 14-30 days. Prick out seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Grow on, transplanting into larger pots as required. Acclimatise and plant out when danger of frost has passed with 45cm spacing.
Growing
Will tolerate any soil type in full sun. Once established requires little watering.
Cultivation
Remove faded flower spikes to prolong flowering. In the coldest regions, if possible lift in autumn to bring inside to overwinter in a frost free place.
