Germination

Sow directly after danger of frost has passed. Sow onto prepared soil which has been raked to a fine tilth and watered. Rake in. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes 2-3 weeks approx. Can be sown under glass if preferred in spring or autumn. Indoor grown seedlings should be acclimatised and planted out after danger of frost has passed, autumn sowings should be planted out the following spring. Young seedlings look like grass so don't pull in error!

Growing

Very easy to grow. Prefers any, even poor, soil in full sun. Will tolerate drought once established. Requires little attention.

Cultivation

Will self-seed freely. Deadhead if you do not want volunteer seedlings next year. Pull and compost the plant after flowering ceases.
