Germination
Sow under glass in early spring, a window sill or heated greenhouse is ideal. Sow 2cm deep into moist, well-drained seed compost. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes 2 weeks approx. Keep soil moist but not wet. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to individual 8cm pots. Grow on under glass. Can be moved outside once danger of frost has passed. Will require frost protection. Can be sown directly, where the plant is to grow, in spring after danger of frost has passed, if sowing directly this plant will need to be regrown from seed each year.
Growing
Best container grown in the UK as the plant will need protection from winter cold, a conservatory would be ideal. Can be placed outside when all danger of frost has passed in May. Prefers a sheltered situation in full sun. Can be planted outside but the plant would likely not survive a UK winter and would need to be grown again from seed each year.
Cultivation
Propagate by seed or greenwood cuttings taken in spring.
