Germination

Sow indoors at any time. Prior to sowing soak seed for 48 hours in warm water. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Ideal temp. 22-26°C. Germination takes 30-90 days, but can be erratic. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Grow on in the greenhouse.

Growing

Grow under glass in a loam free potting compost in bright filtered light. Minimum temp. 10°C. During the growing season water freely and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly. Water more sparingly in winter.

Cultivation

Pruning group 11. If training on a wall or trellis tie in new growth, prune back overlong shoots, remove dead shoots. No regular pruning is required.
