Germination

Sow indoors at any time. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Propagate. Ideal temp. 24-27°C. Water from the base only. Germination takes 2-4 months but can be erratic. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Pot on as needed and move to a greenhouse or conservatory.

Growing

Best grown under glass in the UK. Prefers a moist, well-drained soil in full sun.

Cultivation

Quick growing, this tree will require pruning. Prune continuously to maintain a bush shape. For trees prune yearly by approximately 1/3.
