Germination

Sow indoors at any time. Sow directly from May after danger of frost has passed. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost ideally in a large seed tray. Cover with only a sprinkling of soil. Place somewhere warm or propagate temp. 20-25°C. Keep moist but not wet. Germination 10-14 days. Can be harvested directly from the tray as babyleaf. Can be planted out once danger of frost has passed. If growing to maturity for flowering or seed allow 30cm spacing.

Growing

Requires full sun to do well. For babyleaf requires little attention. Keep moist but not wet.

Cultivation

Deadhead if you do not want it to self-seed. If you wish to collect seed allow the heads to become dry and brown before cutting.
