'Mini Mint' (Mentha requienii)

Germination

Sow indoors. Each pellet contains 8-12 seeds. Surface sow one pellet into an individual 15cm pot of lightly firmed, moist well-drained seed compost. Press seeds into the soil but do not cover. Light is needed for germination. Ideal temp. 18-20°C. Germination takes 5-7 days. Grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed. Trailing habit.

Growing

Prefers a warm, damp location in partial sun. Will grow in any soil in any situation. This is a ground hugging, carpet forming mint which can be walked on. Ideal between paving stones or for creating a mossy effect. Can be container grown. Water in dry weather. Hardy to -5°C.

Cultivation

Will self sow freely. Divide plants in autumn. Mint can be vigorous, if you do not want this plant to spread restrict its growth by container planting.
