Germination
Sow directly. Sow seeds thinly 10mm deep into drills of finely prepared soil. Drills 30cm apart. Seedbed should be in full sun and moist. When large enough to handle thin seedlings to 25cm spacing. Can be started indoors. Sow onto surface of moist well-drained seed compost. Cover with a sprinkling of compost. Propagate 18-21°C. Germination takes 14-21 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 30cm spacing.
Growing
Once established requires little attention. Water during dry periods.
Cultivation
Will die off in autumn and re-emerge in spring. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring. Will self-seed unless deadheaded.
