Germination

Suited to greenhouse cultivation. Sow indoors Feb-May. Sow seeds vertically, 10mm deep, into 8cm pots of free draining moist seed compost. Propagate 20-25°C. Germination takes 7-10 days. Protect seedlings from direct sunlight to prevent scorching. Grow plants on until they are large enough to handle. Transplant into the greenhouse, allowing 2 plants per growbag. Ideal temp. 15°C. Train plant up strings or canes.

Growing

Prefers greenhouse cultivation. Water regularly and thoroughly. Keep evenly moist. Train up supports with 45 cm spacing. Once fruit develops pinch out the end of each side shoot, leaving 2 leaves after each fruit, this encourages more side shoots and more fruit.

Cultivation

Harvest regularly to encourage new growth. Pick fruits while young and tender, about 7-9cm long. Best harvested in the morning when cool.
