Germination
For best results sow directly into the ground in spring, in the preferred growing position. Can be started indoors if desired. Sow seed onto the surface of moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 15-20°C. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed with 30cm spacing.
Growing
Prefers rich, well-drained soil with full or partial sun. Does not tolerate wet soil in winter.
Cultivation
Propagate by seed or by softwood cuttings of non-flowering shoots. Cuttings should be taken in summer. Deadhead regularly to prolong the flowering window.
