Germination
Sow indoors in spring before the last frost, sow directly after the last frost. Sow 2mm deep into moist, well-drained seed compost. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes 8-15 days approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed. Successional sow for continuous display. Can be sown directly after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers any well-drained soil in full sun. Rich soil will cause leaf growth at the expense of flowers. Prone to slug attack, treat accordingly.
Cultivation
Will self-seed freely. Deadhead if you do not want volunteer seedlings next season.
