Germination

Sow in the autumn under glass or sow directly in spring. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. Keep moist but not wet. Ideal temp. 15-18°C during the day dropping to 10°C at night. Germination takes 22-38 days. When seedlings have 7-8 true leaves thin to 30cm spacing.

Growing

Prefers light, well-drained soil in full sun. Water well until established. Once established thrives on very little water. Requires little attention.

Cultivation

Deadhead to prolong flowering window. Allow some heads to go to seed if seed is to be collected. Properly cleaned seed can be sown the following year.
