Germination
Sow into a cold frame in spring or autumn. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 15-20°C. Germination takes 1-3 months. Even under ideal conditions germination can be erratic taking up to 1 year. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to individual pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out when danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers any moist but well-drained soil in full or partial sun. Flowering is improved in full sun. Drought tolerant once established.
Cultivation
Pruning group 8. Prune back after flowering. Remove any diseased or overcrowded shoots. Propagate via seed or semi-hardwood cuttings.
