Germination
Sow indoors. Sow onto a moist well-drained seed compost. Cover lightly with soil. Ideal temp. 15-18°C. Needs light to germinate. Germination 7-14 days but can be erratic. Transplant once large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed with 40cm spacing.
Growing
Prefers full sun. Drought tolerant.
Cultivation
In colder areas grow in a pot and move indoors in the winter if you want to keep this as a perennial. Regularly deadhead to extend flowering. Prune back branches after blooming, cut at an angle where the branch joins the main stem, this encourages new growth.
