Germination
Sow directly in spring or autumn. Prior to sowing soak seed for 24 hours in warm water. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 15°C. Germination takes 2-4 weeks. Can be sown into a cold frame for slightly improved germination rates in spring if preferred.
Growing
Prefers any ordinary soil which is not too damp or too acidic. Suitable for meadow planting it can be cut or grazed. Requires little attention.
Cultivation
The plant will spread freely via the roots.
