Germination
Sow directly after danger of frost has passed. Sow onto prepared soil which has been raked to a fine tilth and watered. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Germination takes 1-2 weeks approx. Can be sown under glass in autumn and treated as a biennial. Transplant under glass seedlings in spring when large enough to handle. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers a fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. This plant will not tolerate shade. Hardy to -5°C. Can be overwintered under glass.
Cultivation
Will be cut down by frost. Pull and compost at the end of the flowering season.
