Germination

Sow indoors. Sow 5mm deep into moist well-drained seed compost. Water. Ideal temp. 15-20°C. Germination takes 7-21 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 90cm spacing.

Growing

Prefers light, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Requires little attention.

Cultivation

Deadhead or cut flowers regularly to extend the flowering window. Plants may be hardy in sheltered locations if given a mulch in winter.
