Germination

Sow indoors or in a greenhouse Feb-Jun. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil or vermiculite. Place in a propagator. Ideal temp. 18-25°C. Germination takes 2-3 weeks approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.

Growing

Prefers a fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade. Easy to care for.

Cultivation

Cut back to base to base level in winter. Propagate by division in winter or spring before new growth starts.
