Germination
Sow immediately indoors. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 20-25°C. Germination takes 3-4 weeks approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to individual pots and grow on under glass for their first winter. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers a fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Offer a sheltered location away from cold, drying winds.
Cultivation
Pruning group 1. No routine pruning necessary. Prune if needed in late winter or early spring. After pruning mulch and feed. Propagate by seed or via semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
