Germination
Sow under glass or indoors in late winter. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 15-20°C. Germination takes 3-5 weeks approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on under glass. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers any well-drained soil in full or partial sun in a sheltered location. Can be container planted. Water and feed regularly throughout summer. Will require frost-free protection in winter. The plant can be lifted and potted up in autumn and stored under glass with a min. temp. 5°C.
Cultivation
Deadhead regularly to prolong the flowering window. Remove spent flowers and stems, no other pruning required. Propagate by seed, softwood cuttings in spring or via root cuttings in late autumn.
