Germination
Sow directly in spring. Surface sow onto prepared soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Just cover the seed with a very fine sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp +20°C. Keep moist , but not wet, until germination occurs. Germination takes 1-2 weeks approx. Thin seedlings as required. Can be sown indoors or under glass at any time. Sow into a seed, place somewhere bright and warm. Keep moist until germination occurs. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers a hot, sunny position in a well-drained even poor soil. Drought and heat resistant.
Cultivation
Propagate by semi-ripe cuttings in late summer. RHS pruning group 10.
