Germination
Sow in a warm greenhouse in spring. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Do not cover seed simply press into the soil. Light is needed for germination. Ideal temp 20-25°C. Germination takes 2-3 weeks approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Best grown under glass in a loam-based potting compost in bright, filtered light. Offer protection from direct, hot sun. Can be tried outside in a frost-free garden. Is likely to be cut down by frost.
