Germination
Sow under glass in spring. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Do not cover seeds, simply press into the soil. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes 3-5 weeks approx. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to individual pots and grow on under glass. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers a gritty, well-drained, neutral-alkaline soil in full sun. The plant may be cut down in very cold winters.
Cultivation
Trim after flowering. Can be cut back hard in spring to within 5cm of soil line. Propagate by seed or via root softwood cuttings, which will require bottom heat.
