Germination
Sow indoors at any time. Surface sow onto moist seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Place somewhere warm. Compost must remain consistently moist, this can be achieved using the 'bog method' sit the pot or tray into another container filled with 3cm water. Germination should be rapid. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to individual pots and grow on under glass, increasing depth of standing water as the plant grows. Plant out when well grown in summer.
Growing
Very easily grown, this plant prefers a boggy situation or standing water up to 15cm deep in full or partial sun. Will spread so choose your planting site carefully, this is not a plant for a small area unless its roots are restricted by use of a large, bottomless container.
Cultivation
Requires little attention. Propagate by division in spring.
