Germination
Prior to sowing place the seed in boiling water and allow soak for 24-48 hours. You may also scarify or nick the seed prior to soaking if desired. Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Water. Ideal temp. 18-21°C. Germination 4-30 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed or grow on in a greenhouse or conservatory.
Growing
Grow outdoors in neutral to acid soil in a sheltered frost free location or grow under glass in a loam-based compost in full light. Does not like hard pruning.
Cultivation
Propagate by seed or root semi-hardwood cuttings in summer. Pruning group 8. Prune April-May or after flowering.
