Germination
Open packed with care seeds are tiny. Seeds can be mixed with silver sand if desired for even sowing. Sow indoors at any time. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost, do not cover the seeds, simply press into the soil. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination should be rapid but can sometimes be irregular taking a little longer. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers a moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun, although it can tolerate partial sun. It thrives in most soils but dislikes winter wet.
Cultivation
Propagate by division in early spring or root stem tip cutting in spring or early summer.
