Germination

Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes 14-21 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed.

Growing

Prefers well-drained soil in partial shade. Water until established after which it requires little attention.

Cultivation

For seed collection allow seed pods to dry on the plant, break open to collect seeds. May self-seed.
