Germination
Sow directly. Sow into prepared soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Just cover seed with a little soil. Add plenty of leaf mould to the soil. Ideally planting area should be shaded by trees or similar. Ideal temp. 18°C. Germination takes 8-12 days approx. Thin clumps as required and replant elsewhere.
Growing
Prefers and moist, well-drained soil in partial shade. Strong sun will scorch the leaves. Will be cut down by frost.
Cultivation
Propagate by seed. Will self-seed. Pull and compost at the end of the growing season.
