Germination

Direct sow where they are to flower. Surface sow onto prepared soil which has raked to a fine tilth. Do not cover seeds as they need light to germinate. Water well. Germination takes 14-60 days. When large enough to handle thin seedlings to 100cm spacing. Can be started earlier in a cold frame if required.

Growing

Prefers any well-drained soil in full sun. Keep soil moist but do not over water. Do not over fertilise as this will lead to excessive leaf growth. Requires little attention.

Cultivation

Will self-seed freely, deadhead to avoid self-seeding.
