Germination
Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost with horticultural sand 1:1 ratio. Cover lightly with sand. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes 21-28 days. If germination does not occur cold stratify. Move to -4-+4°C for 2-4 weeks then return to warmth. Germination can be slow, 5-6 months, and erratic. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 80cm spacing.
