Germination
Sow under glass Feb-Apr. Sow directly from May after danger of frost has passed. Directly sow seed thinly 10mm deep in drills 30cm apart. Ideal temp. 4-16°C. Germination takes 7-14 days. When seedlings are 2cm tall thin to 15-20cm. Indoors, sow at 18-20°C where germination takes 3-4 days, transplant seedlings when 3-4 weeks old. Successional sow at 14 day intervals.
Growing
Keep soil moist and cool. Watering is essential. Perfect temp. for growth 16-18°C.
Cultivation
Requires little attention. Can be harvested as babyleaf or mature heads.
