Sow

Germination

Sow indoors in late winter-spring or autumn. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 20°C. Germination takes 2-4 weeks but can be erratic taking considerably longer. Transplant the seedlings in clumps, when large enough to handle, approx. 6 weeks after germination to 1L pots. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.

Growing

Prefers a moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil in full or partial sun. Prefers acid conditions.

Cultivation

Cut back old stems to the ground in early spring before new growth commences.
