Germination
Sow indoors immediately. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of vermiculite or soil. Place in a propagator. Ideal temp. 15-20°C. Light is needed for germination. Keep moist. Germination takes 1-3 months. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Growing
Prefers any moist but well-drained soil in full or partial sun. Hardy but will benefit from a sheltered location. New growth can be damaged by frost. Tolerant of cold to -15°C. Can be container planted. Liquid feed monthly during summer.

Pruning group 9. May require restrictive pruning in late winter.
