Germination
Sow under glass Feb-Mar. Sow directly Apr-May or in autumn. Best to sow directly. Sow 3mm deep into prepared soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Germination takes 7-14 days. Thin to final spacing of 15cm. For early flowering sow indoors 2mm deep into moist well-drained seed compost. Ideal temp. 13-18°C. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out when danger of frost has passed with 15cm spacing. Autumn sowings will emerge the following spring offering earlier flowering.
Growing
Prefers a light, moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
Cultivation
Trim all over after flowering to encourage further blooms.
