Germination

Sow in a cold frame in winter. Sow into moist well-drained seed compost. Natural winter cold should offer ideal conditions for seedlings to emerge as the weather warms in spring. Keep moist but not wet. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to individual pots and grow on in the cold frame for their first winter. Plant out when danger of frost has passed. Very easy to grow. These seeds have a naturally low germination %

Growing

Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Tolerant of waterlogged soils. Excellent specimen tree which grows quickly to 25M.
